Minnehaha Transitional Kitchen

Project Overview

A refined transitional kitchen that bridges traditional craftsmanship with modern convenience. Shaker-style doors with premium overlay construction and custom pantry organization.

In Portland's Minnehaha neighborhood, this transitional kitchen balances the warmth of natural white oak accents against a perimeter of Sherwin-Williams Alabaster-painted shaker cabinetry. Framed construction with full-overlay doors delivers a clean, uniform appearance, while Caesarstone quartz countertops provide a durable, low-maintenance work surface. Satin brass hardware punctuates the soft white palette. A dedicated baking station with marble insert, custom pantry organization with pullout shelves, and an oversized island with seating for four make this kitchen as functional as it is beautiful.

About This Project

What paint color was used in the Minnehaha kitchen?+
The perimeter cabinetry is painted in Sherwin-Williams Alabaster (SW 7008), a warm creamy white that avoids the starkness of pure white. The satin sheen provides a subtle glow and is easy to maintain in a kitchen environment.
Why does the Minnehaha kitchen have two different cabinet finishes?+
The two-tone design — painted Alabaster uppers and perimeter with natural white oak on the island — creates visual depth and defines the island as a focal point. This is a signature transitional approach that bridges the warmth of natural wood with the clean uniformity of painted cabinetry.
